I've just measured my 17.5mm dellorto where the air filter pushes on and it's 35mm.
Above the float bowl.
Measure the outer where the current air filter fits and match it that way. There usually stamped as well.
Just ordered one from Italjet uk to give it a whirl. They suggested a whole host of other things as well but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Great post above. My dragster. 50 has no rear reg plate light. I thought the previous had removed it , am I right in thinking they don't need one?
Should I just replace the float and float needle? I think there available together in a kit. This is the type I have....
That does make sense as I was messing with the float with the last problem I had. I think the tab on my float is plastic though.
Had a couple of weeks of the scoot running cock on have developed a intermittent loss of power. It's a bit wierd really still pulls nice and...

Just tap them off from the back. There not on a taper they just get stuck.
You can still buy replacement cotter pins. Cost about £1 each.
If it's any consolation they were poop in the 70s keep them just for the retro look.
Either twat them out with a big hammer. There is a special tool for getting them out we had it for years but the hammer usually does it.
