steel heads etc expand at the same rate as a spark plug however an alloy head will expand faster then a spark plug and shrink back quicker you...
you should never remove a spark plug from an alloy head whilst still hot

could be a mixture of things but with an open filter you probably need stiffer clutch springs as you will have lost bottom end power
