GILERA ICE FRAME UP BUILD

right this is my ice picked it up as a full bike tho had been sitting and all the inner panels had been nicked off the bike
so taken everything off it and sold the engine


then picked up this piaggio typhoon engine from a 1998 bike to build into a mid race spec

forts to be fitted onto frame

and now my order list :/

parts orderd are
tnt crank bearings and seals
str8 cut engine cover
athena hpr 70cc cylinder kit
top racing evo high tech crankshaft
polini 9 superspeed varitor
yasuni carrera c16 exhaust
all new nuts and bolts

engine caseing next week is going off for chroming
will have a better update next week when i have had time to spend working on it as just moving place to

 

yep looks like it will be better project then my sym jets but they was not bad did all the work and got them moted and sold with in a month of getting them and made some good money on them

i only orderd from there as had a discount code for %10 off


frame is going to be powder coating black , down hill bars , i got a set of runner wheels what are getting chromed to but going to be doing it all over the next 2 to 3 months

thanks will be doing a big ish update by next weekend as striping the engine down

 

looks like itll be a good project to watch however im not such a fan of polished wheels dont see what all the hypes about theyre practically un usable unless you plan on cleaning them alot

 

yep i know i will be having to give it a good clean 2 or 3 times a week if i was going to use it everyday for work but only going to be useing the bike at weekends as moving next month and i will be 32miles away from work so will be driving my car

 

update coming later on today engine all striped , new bearings set for headset cleaned frame all down to

not having my engine chromed now just going to paint it black
engine all nice and clean now after 3 hrs cleaning now is oil and dirt free

 

its not looking as clean in the photos as it is mate down to bad lighting

 

a spare engine i picked up from andy after stripping it down after it has been sitting for ages out side
have fitted my stage 6 crank and new bearings and seals
going to be fitting my big bore kit later on today
on the way home with it

now home and getting to work on it with in 30mins of buying it

engine now apart

still need to get photos of the bottom end build up as my phone died last night

i have done some flow work on it but not as much as i did to my old case lol
as going to get the ice on the road with this engine why building my main engine up

 

What did you use to clean cases and paint engine? as wouldnt mind doin that on my runner as there grafted lol! Lookin good so far

 

something called dirt off or something i will find out the name later when i go into the garage and i used mettel paint with a roller

 

ah rite, so just a normal paint roller? or was it a sponge 1?, and think i know what u mean its muck off i think seen it in halfords

 

mormal small one inch one used for models mate and yep its muck off i used that and a wire brush and soon cleaned it all off and after steam cleaned the case

only steam clean it tho if its a bear case as if you dont water will get all in the crank and bearings and they will be no good lol as one of my friends tryed haha
