hi there, my names Ricky and I work in a scooter tuning shop in Bristol. This is my 2005 Derbi GP1 racing project. It started life as a stock 50cc with a bolt on pipe. Then I brought it as the second owner and ended up partly sensing the bore. So then I went and brought a bolt on 70cc kit and ragged it round for the summer the got board of the lack of power and the mass of problems I was having. so I decided to fully strip the bike down and rebuild it with a malossi mhr rep for i.o.w this year ! also have access to a dyno at work so can get it set up just right with some help ! this is from about 3 months ago on..."the previous project can be found on uksf under new gp1. current spec is: malossi mhr 70cc kit yasuni r carb edition exhaust pm tuning full circle crank shaft skf racing main bearings and seals motoforce 24mm carb polini speed control kit polini Kevlar belt ngk racing lead and cap tnt racing coil pack motoforce cnc straight inlet stage 6 small blue air filter. no extra boost bottle stage 6 racing drive face Visual parts: tnt tuning blue handle bars str8 white stem brembo brake conversion tnt tuning blue brake caps tnt tuning blue brake levers koso digital Speedo kill switch stage 6 oil filler plug tnt tuning blue/white grips tnt tuning kick start lever str8 blue engine case bolts "every panel bolt blue" custom number plate bracket bike it blue tax disc holder str8 riser kit "to allow for the 24mm carb" stage 6 cnc switch gear still to come: stage 6 wavy brake disc front tnt tuning wavy brake disc rear polini roller bearing gear up kits. malossi rs24 rear shock polini 26 clutch stage 6 clutch bell stage 6 vforce reeds full body pan respray in white/blue new Dunlop tyres wheels, tranny case, side stand powder coated white seat with black stage 6 logo engraved shiny red lightened fly wheel when I get round to posting it off and some more under cover tuning bits  here’s some pics of what its gone though so far: [/ that’s all the photos in sort of order unto now: will be fitting the rest of my mhr rep tomorrow and torqueing it up then hopefully see it fires up and make a quick vid ! thanks Ricky
yep, from the testing work we have done on our dyno we found out the yasuni r works better on a unmoded mhr then a yasuni c16 dose. and thanks
for show nice one ricky would like to see what it andy dyno's it at i woulda thought a c16 woulda been better and then you got room for porting when you want to instead of having to buy another exhaust later on cratch:
but the boost bottle gives an extra 20 bhp to a 70cc kit  LOL, na its just for show tbh, call me sad but i think they look pritty cool. and yh a c16 is better on a moded rep but 2bh mate im not planing on moding mine,at least not for a while.so sticking with the yasuni r for now. and yh just need a few last bits then it will be run up on the dyno at work when we have time  thanks ricky
rebuild it with a malossi mhr rep for i.o.w this year ! i see where i forgot to put the rep after mhr in the spec :banghead:
Update: Engine is built and running now, had a problem with a water leak but it turned out to be the base gasket leaking. We put it on the dyno in work on the fist run it pulled 10 bhp at 6000 to 7000 revs. On a smaller carb. We then tried it with the 24mm carb and it pulled 10.1 brake but the fuel mixture was complete out at low to mid rage, so it still needs a lot of setting up to get it running right. Few more parts since my last update including a polini clutch, stage 6 clutch bell, new light switches, kick start, inlet etc. Got a video of it idling also and took it for a quick rag up my road. Its pretty quick so far :yahoo: Needs a gear up though. :beg: Here’s a few pics:
loving all the stage 6 kit mate are you a supplier of these parts?? As me drag could well do with som more shiney stuffs LOL Is that carb not at too much of an angle and also doesnt the boost bottle hav to be fitted in an upright postion as not to flood with gas?? :eh: Does sound VERY tight tho
not sure what you both mean by it sounds tight as fuck ? cratch: and no mate olny beeeeep are alloud to stock stage 6 stuff in the uk at the moment. we are a uk malossi tech center and stock polini, malossi, tnt etc so its worth checking out !
erm, your not allowed to advertise on here, you are allowed to be on here as a person, not a shop (hence theres nothing about my shop in my sig) as for malossi tech centres, says it all by "it sounds tight as fuck" the crank sounds tight in the engine, you can hear that when it stalls/doesent start (theres no run over, the crank stops verry suddenly rather than slowing down) start the bike, turn it off, it should run over wiht no spark (like budump, budump, bud-ump, pu pu) not just stop suddenly just like it is.
Nice mate, alot of goodies  Also you wana replace the front pulley nut, looks a bit rounded to me good look with the project
ok dint realise about the advertising sory, dint think puting it in my sig would do any harm ! whats your complants about malossi then ? i think the cranks sounds abit tight from the new oil seals etc. runs fine on the dyno so they may just need a bit of wearing in ! the crank is centred and was pulled though with a crank puller !
thought i would give the bike a bit of a clean in the sun today, so got a few garden shots and a little video of it idleing. i gave my tranny case a clean ready to be powdercoated along with my wheels etc and hopefully they will be sent off next week if i hae time. and after not starting it for 5 days it still fired up first kick ! very smokey still and a bit oily in the exhaust area from it running really rich after the rebuild. also fitted a front brembo brake caliper ready for a big disc conversion. along with new malossi pads ! going to go for polini oversized wavey brakes. and a malossi rs24 rear shocker. my polini primary gear up kit arived as well. just need to presss it in at work next week. heres a little vid:
