me mate gave me his old cutdown scooter for doing abit of work, come with an old suzuki AP50 morini engine bit of a nail but all i want is the frame. Iv got these bits off my old TGB: 70cc A/C Malossi kit, top racing crankshaft, doppler S3R Exhaust just needs a clean. Thats the malossi kit dry fitted without gasket Then i went round and baught his unfinished SR50 for £120, and this was the outcome: More To Sooon....
the SR50 came with a Airsal 70cc kit, full circle crank, malossi gear up kit im gonna use the liquid cooled system and hook a rad up sumwere
Cheerz mate. iv got some serious plans,. 98cc kit, 34mm extended crank, C4 bearings, 24mm carb/big block reeds, malossi cvt/clutch/belt drive system, yasuni C16, inner rotor staror, and whatever bolt-on tuning parts the internet provides,. its gonna look phat when done. maby even try get it road legal. need to get a job first
GOSH thats gonna fly. So short wheel based! must wheely like mad :L. Will the frame need welding to it to make it stronger or will it be fine?
Cut Down Scooter. SR50 engine + a few trick bits by reg » Thu Jul 14, 2011 9:02 am GOSH thats gonna fly. So short wheel based! must wheely like mad :L. Will the frame need welding to it to make it stronger or will it be fine? yeah it was flying with a bog standard ap50 engine, pure wheelie machine. ive got a bucket full of tuning bits, its gonna be leathal! im considering welding a bar were the tank is and fitting a removable monkeybike tank would make it stronger and look good,
if you look at the side on view pic of it, the front wheel is all wrong and it messes up the bikes stance, basically the forks need changing because the wheel sits too far behind the forks i turned the fork legs around and fitted the wheel and it shifted the wheel forward about 4-6" and it looks pukka :good: , ill post pics to show what i meen
its trailing caster,,, if you have leading caster (the wheel forward of the forks) make sure theres enough lean on them as speed wobbles could be an issue.... something thats allready a problem with short wheelbased bikes
BEFORE: (as the forks should be) AFTER: (forks backwards) What do you reckon? i might change the forks to ones with the bolts in front?

id deffo be looking into a steering dampner simply wiht such a short wheelbase and the fact youve not test ridden the thing. should be cool tho. fork angle looks ok and most piaggio scooters have the wheel ahead of the forks id stick wiht the wheel behind the forks.. brake is in the right place.. saves it looking so out of place.
Too right im not riding it without one. iv seen it riding with a stock suzuki ap50 engine dooing about 50mph, the stance of the bike just ent right so im gonna change the forks. i basically havent started it yet iv got two bikes in for fixing an need a job to fund the tuning bits, wont b long
to be honest its on the back burner for now, iv got too much work in the pipeline to start this project properly, i need serious cash for the high end race parts.. Shouldent Take Too Long  ITS NOT GONNA END UP SOME HALF DIESENT BODGE JOB, im takin this str8linerzZ
