So, in the middle of my Ruckus build I decided to tackle another idea. ..Take a liquid cooled 250 and cram it in a 49cc body. When I discovered that there are two different motors (horizontal and vertical) I realized that you could probably fit it into the 50's body fairly easy. Yes I considered putting in my Ruckus, but I have a well thought out plan for it. this? this is, because I could. I wish I had more and better photos but this is what we're working with. started with a new, stock 49cc scooter, then I put a 87cc bore kit, carb, exhaust, plug, wire, cdi, uni. pretty much all you can do to a GY6 50 aside from putting a longer/better crank. It was a cool scoot like that and I rode it probably 2000 miles before I started this swap. It was quick and the high speed was probably 50-55mph. And going fifty on 10" wheels is bleepin hairy brah. hock: I Put the motor in "Frank" Its a busted up looking shop scoot we made from spare rental parts and put the 87cc motor in. but, I digress. Then I Took this, and pulled the motor and harness out. Then simply stuffed it in the frame... Aaaand WahLah!
I was going to put 12" wheels on it, but then I saw it, and I think the 13" and 10" is growing on me? so I think its gonna stay. Also, after we get it fired up and running, all the plastic is going to the paint shop. Not sure what color yet?
qt least the wheels look well matched i had them wheels on my old huatian chinese import and the grip was terrible
when I was done stuffing this turkey, I decided with the radiator by my feet. It will pop out of the plastic a bit, but it will look cherry. new meaning to the word "hot seat" haha I carbon fiber wrapped the front piece. gonna keep that but changing from black paint to something else brighter.
And here it is welded up and radiator in. Still need to wire it all and get it running cool. cut the front plastic for the rad to pop through. Also, going with a drag bar up front so figuring a headlight now too. Then break it all back down and paint it. ...as I wait for Ruck parts ha.
Yea, This Bike is in Hawaii (Maui) not UK spec. Well its all wired up and on the road! I put drag bars on it, and need to figure out some gauge options. Pretty happy with it. took it out for a short cruz today. still need to up jet, but pulls hard to about 70 then leans out. stopped to cool it and take a few shots. I had plans to drop it (lower it) but I Like it the way it is.
you sir are a legend! this is the best shit i have ever seen you must go on a show or something haha and those ruckus are maaaaad! great job!
