Someone plz confirm my worst fears

I took the varicover off coz coolant is leaking from the bottom of the casing. Without ripping things apart (not got time til weekend), whats behind there to leak??

crank seal...could water get to the seal from the bottom of the barrel? If so is it replaceable without splitting the casings...pull the old seal and drive in a new one with a drift??? can it be done if thats the prob :confused:cratch:

I've had a good luck around the barrel and head and can't see a water trail :confused:cratch:

I also believe theres a sael for the water pump drive in there somewhere. Can it be replaced without splitting the casings if its that thats gone

    alot of shit
cases must be split for the waterpump seal , can do the crank seal without splitting the cesses like you said, warm them up slightly just to make it easier

Fecking Zip SP waterpumps are a nightmare, full engine rebuild to sort out.

I am very tempted to get an electric pump on my race bike when mine goes.

you can do the pump seal from behind just fine, you just have to messure the depth carefully. easier to just strip the engine, even easier to just ditch the shitty mechanical pump and run somthing reliable

well, stripped the vari off earlier this afternoon...its the pump seal...so

took the spare lump from the breaker and swapped the parts over. Only prob we have is the base gasket now leaks (metal polini 70 one), so off to plan B tomorrow with a new one.

We stripped it out anyway coz it wouldn't start today...theres no spark. Two things to sort at once :wallbash: :wallbash:

kin peds....they're a pain in the R's when they dont run...like forever. Prob is, I've got used to the 4 stroke Exup and its spoilt me over the last 10 years or so...it goes forever and never needs anything more than a basic service. long gone are the times of rebuilding the tuned 375LC every spring and summer :D
