Hello. Basically my mate bike blew up we believed it was the bore from him not taking care, But there was a big gash going down the piston. But not a mark on the bore. So we put a new bore and piston on and it ran perfect for 5-10mins before it starting popping and not running properly again. We turned it off and now it wont start! Anyone got any ideas what could be the problem? Water Pump not working? Crank?
Hi i would hazard a guess that the piston clip / piece of piston ring that caused the damage the first time was still inside the engine when he put the second cylinder on and it´s come around again and squashed the spark plug electrode/mashed the piston.
hi...could be a number of things.has he been "porting" the engine or any other cylinder mods.did he fit the rings after gapping them.ide say if what broke is still in the engine,that sure ain't gonna help.if bits fly about in the crank area below the piston its gonna cause damage but popping and spluttering and giving up after 10 mins...water cooled and bad fitment...petrol and water don't mix..when they do it stops combustion.ide have a look and see if any waters got in the combustion system.if the new piston is good after this... refit and check its getting oil..clean up plug and see from there..
