Hello my zip runs fine with the standees air box but with a foam filter it bogs down and cuts out? Any ideas of what this can be? And what's the standard carb size on a 2001 piaggio zip cat air cooled 2t? Any help and I'll be gratefull
As teZ258 said you need to upjet around 10-15 sizes with open air filter, and by the sounds you havnt if it runs fine on air box. Just keep the air box on, no messing about and is alot of hassle sorting open air filters and getting correct jetting and just wastes more fuel and doesnt improve performance just lets engine breath better if highly tuned and sounds better
Sounds better and looks better and as to the set up its 3.8 gram mallossi rollers malossi air filter in the standerd box and 50cc zx-r exhaust mallossi race belt 2k clutch springs. And the other thing is it runs faster and stronger at 3/4 throttle and bogs slightly at full throttle ATM?
100000 jet a 1g rollers will sort that right out. Why do people incist on putting silly filters on 50's ? Wont give you any gains you know know. Try a 120 jet and 5gram roller. 3.8 is way too light.
Creative josh u dont need a air filter on a 50s as johnny said if you dont like the air box spray it or something lol iy dosent benefit your bike attall. try 100 - 110 if you really want it on and try 5/5/5g rollers
