Zip carb on Aerox, jetting

Hi everyone,

Got a dellorto pvha here, 17.5mm. Standard jet is in it ATM (56). My Ped has a sports exhaust and standard airbox, so the jet should be around 68-72 on a zip, but will roughly that size be alright on an aerox? 72 is what people run in 2003 onward aerox's with a 12mm gurtner carb (standard is 62), but pre 2003 bikes had an 86 jet with a 12mm dellorto as standard.

It's a bit confusing as a zip has a 17.5mm carb and a 56 jet and an early aerox has a 12mm carb with an 86 jet. Why would this be?

Try 72 and see for yourself. In most cases 72 sounds right in the ballpark. the 12mm is a very different carburator. Cant even compare them for jet sizes
