Well well well..had some wel tell me my mixture on carb was wrong and theyd sort it ran ok for a few houres then on the way to work yesterday the filter ir exhaust back fired and I new some thing wasent right exhaust was red hot got 2 min foerther down the road after a cool down and the bike just died on me had to push it a mile to work gggggrrrrrtrr
def sounds like you've run it with the mixture set wrong judging by the hot exhaust.. be surprized if its not heat seized. Whip the plug out and see what colour it is out of curiosity
well the kick start still works but just dosent start.. . i now yh tell me about it its one thing after another.......
No not checked plug bikes still at work..but should be getting it collected today.its got to be somat eith the micture as was okish til that got touched

what are the specs of the bike ? If standard the carb mixture/idle skrew should be set too 3 1/4 turns out from all the way in, if you let me know the specs i'll try help, however this does sound like a heat seize.
Got the bike back home last night and As far as I know its standard but has dellorto 17.5 carb sponge filter and yasuni ehxaust with a 98 jet
from experience i can tell you that you will need to probably get new: new piston kit hone on barrel new plug gasket (ac piaggio motors only have a base gasket) then sort your jetting out as its gone lean, lean is not good for motor life
i thought that my self....i have some one coming to look at it tomorrow.but if its going to cost to much then i need another plan as i dont think the bike is worth chucking loads at it.It still needs all the panels sorting and some other bits n bobs when i could probs get another bike for a bit extra.Or my other option if i decide to use it is Fiance lol...
its not expensive for a hone, about 20 pound i would guess (we charge 150NOK at work) gasket is gonna be maybe 6 pound, plug 5 i guess, piston kit maybe about 30, wouldnt bother with genuine, ive used aftermarket piston kits with no problems, one nice little trick for a bit of extra reliability is to polish the top of your piston, it stops the carbon building up and the motor wont pre-detonate (not that you would notice on an auto)
That price dont seem bad at all tbh I check all that tomoz if possible lol ill keep you posted on what we find thnks for help matey
no its not going to garage mate its my dads friend who knows about bikes hes a got a r6 i think at mo and a stunt 600.....he's going to look and hopefully find the problem/problems for Free..then ill just pay for a bit of labore and for the parts obviously LOL
i feel a total prat now thought i would try changing the plug and noticed that itr had screwed it self half way out and the plug had shot it so NEW plug in and it kicked up 1st time lol,,,,,,but still hope to get the mixture sorted and it running right today tho as it had lost most it's speed etc
