i have a yamaha aerox 07 with a setup up of pm tuning 70cc pm tuning crank 21m delorto carb 33%gear up and yasuni c16 the other day i was on my ped and it started rattling or making a whizzing sound then it cut out i managed to start it eventuall got on the bike and it done exactly the same. i have checked the barrel and piston and thats all good but the noise is coming from down near the magneeto and bike will not start :banghead: daily i try but no luck if anyone could help that would be awsome i have been told it may be my seals or summit cause the compressions has lowered from its original state and the noise may be my bearings please help :banghead:
your going to have to take your magneto etc off so you can see the crank seal, there will be loads of oil behind there if its leaking... very much sounds (by your description) that youve got a knackered main bearing or maybe even big end bearing on your crank. its going to need a full engine strip down....
i stripped the engine ,n tht seems fine my small end bearing is in tact as my crank is running smoothly but maybe as you say the crank bearings may of gone will this lower the compression allowing air in the vacume causing the bike not to start please reply cheerz
you checked the nut hasnt cone loose on your variator ?? could be your main bearings maybe or the water pump bearing...
sounds like a main bearing has given up the ghost to me, although it could be something like s sheared woodruff key on the flywheel.
lol variator is fine gunna get a flywheel extracter to have a look at my magneeto and my seels but if these seels are gone wouldnt the whizzie rattle noise be the sound of my crank where the seal has gone but will the bike not start if crank seels have gone cheerz
have you checked if there is a woodruff key still intact? as described above it could have sheared or came out of place. check if its still on the crank.
its a little half moon piece of metal that fits into the end of the crank (stator side) it locates the fly wheel (magneto) in the correct position for the ign timing
