fuse wire is extremely volitile stuff (magnesium and potasium nitrate) the slightest bit of voltage usually lights one right up. with hard fuses (safer options) the voltage is passed between 2 points of the fuse (marked) and the fuse has a single strand of wire wich glows like a bulb.. because there is air and not a pressurised innert gas atmosphere like inside a bulb the "filiment" will literally glow instantly then break as the voltage exceeds the failing point of the wqire.. this becomes as hot as a ciggerett end (wich is hot enough to light a fuse) id have one LOL
