What's everyone's most favourite bike or scooter? Mine is hands down the Suzuki GT750. My Dad's friend got one when I was about 14 and I've loved them ever since. One does not simply get bored of that sound.
stepdad had the GT750, said it apart from selling his harley, it was one of the biggest mistakes he ever made. my favourite all time bike, suzuki bandit 600 my favourite scooter, will always be a 92 honda sa50-m vision. always.
My dad's old bike was deffo one of my faves: This is my mums stripped down for cleaning and adding some coloured bolts And both of them ready to go out My dad traded his CBR in for a new bike as he said he's getting too old to be riding superbikes around so he went and got this, which I also like That's a 2012 Triumph Thunderbird 1600. Was taken a few days after he got it, lovely bike. Has shorter and louder pipes now as they look better
Personally hate cruisers and customs but atleast it isn't a Harley When I get too old and arthritis ridden to ride sports bikes I'll go for a sports tourer, like the Yamaha Fazer, all the power with a more comfortable riding position, or something like a BMW HP3, oosh
@ Burridge If I had a choice between the Suzuki Kettle (that's what they used to be nicknamed) and another bike at 750cc, it would have to be this:- The Kawasaki KH750 H2.
Sub 100cc:- #1.Suzuki GP100 #2.NE 50 MF VISION. Sub 125cc:- #1.GAMMA 125. #2.RD125lc Sub 200cc:- #1.X5 200. #2.CD200. Sub 250cc:- #1.X7 250. #2.DX 250. #3.MOTO MORINI. Sub 350cc:- #1.ELSIE. Sub 400cc:- #1.CB 400/4. #2.NSR. Sub 500cc:- #1.GAMMA 500. #2.GS500E. Sub 600cc:- #1.GPZ. Sub 750cc:- #1.GSXR. #2.CB750. Sub 850cc:- #1.GS850. #2.MOTO-GUZZI. Sub 1000cc:- #1.GS1000. #2.CBX1000. Sub 1100cc:- #1.GSXR1100 #2.GPZ1100.. Any bigger,i'm either a red speck or NORTON.
Sub 350cc you'd go for an Elsie? I'd rather have the RD250E than the Elsie. Set up correctly, the old air cooled RD200 and 250s with the coffin-shaped fuel tanks were wolves in sheep's clothing - nothing until about 9000rpm, then hold on tight... Glorious.
nout wrong with harleys burridge. just most people that ride them are dicks. if i was going over a 600 itd have to be the BMW 800GS, love that bike. if only they could be restricted to 44.5bhp
Prefered suzi's mostly,found air cooled rd's 'quirky' with the carbs if not maintained properly/had a tendency to fry pistons- fair dues to them,you'd stillmanage to get home,but your bore looked like a crater on the moon!. .
@ Mark I know, but I rode an RD200E back in the late 70s, before learners got chopped back to 125s. I never got to ride a 350cc, as I put myself in hospital for some time before I got the chance to take my test.
Harleys?,nowt against them personally,'cept- most in london are ridden by twee d....d investment banker wannabes. .
Harley's are like Chinese bikes; a load of loose bolts and parts, riding in formation. You have to have shares in Loctite to own one.
I've only met one guy with a Harley who wasn't a born again biker, head up his butthole, too amazing to nod back at you on the road sorta guy. Until I meet a few more, I shall not like Harley's But until then, this is how they come across to me as;
ill attempt to get my stepdad out of his chair and back out on a harley and get him to come bassets pole then.
