As some of you may or may not know when it rains hard, my bike has a tamptrum and stalls all the time and doesnt want to start again!! well ive managed to sort out the problem, after a few months of checking electrics and using tonnes of grease and checking the filter ive found out it was the Ht lead and coil!! I had the coil/lead replaced last year but its broke in a spectacular fashion now.
Basically because the vx lead is too short it rubs on the frame and stretches the wire inside......... and you have guessed does this ...........

so i have purchased the one for the Piaggio X9 which is exactly the same, but has a longer lead, and for some reason is £5 cheaper :wtf:
So now my bike runs very well, is much quicker, doesnt miss a beat and will now hopefully not stall in the rain! :pimp:

AH! I'm not the only one who has the VX rain stilling problem then! It's done it several times in wet weather since I had it brand new, and obv took it back under warranty and they basically didn't have a fucking clue, just WD40'd it up and greased everything and gave it me back saying they didn't know what was wrong

Is there any chance you could describe the problems in laymans terms so I can describe it to my dealers, I'd like it sorted before it goes out of warranty!

    yeah sure mate.............

basically when i was on full throttle it was fine, but when i dropped revs, for instance stopping or slowing down to about 15 mph the bike would completely stall, it wouldnt always start up again either, last year i had to call out the RAC.
In my instance it was the HT lead, but it could be anything mate, ive checked all my bike to get to this, i did find my air filter tube that leads to the carb a bit loose, that could always affect it.
LEt us know how you get on mate
