so im planning to get one of them next year to get experience for my full test and keep it for a bit longer when i pass my test till i get job so i can go on proper bike , but it is really hard to decide which one to get as they both look good and they are the same in price, so japanese 4t or italian 2t? which is better worse? any one tried it? i will be riding it to college every day and will be getting out after and in week ends , i have gone trough all the reviews but still cant decide , could you help me please? :beg:
Welcome Edgar, Not had an RS125 FP but had an older RS125 one and they are great fun. The Yamaha will be better for reliability, maintenance and economy but it depends how much you want to spend. Daily, how many miles round trip?
thanks for your reply, its around 30 min drive to my college on small roads , i dont mind the cost of the bike and i dont worry if i spend extra money on petrol , but when it comes brake downs etc thats a bit of a trouble as i usually spend all of my savings on the bike and insurance and my dad gets me petrol , so do you think i should go for yamaha then? as im planning to keep that bike for around 2-3 years
Sorry if I'm being patronising and you may already know this but there a 2 types of motorcycles/scooters engines. 2 Stroke and 4 stroke. 2T lean more toward performance but not so much toward being practical. I'm not knocking them and saying they are unreliable, but they need a little more maintenance than a 4T. 4T will be very reliable all day long but they lack the power and excitement of a 2T. Again they will be reasonably quick but their bias is toward reliability and economy. I like the YZF-R125 but they are so damn pricey, getting on for 4K brand new, personally, my money get another, older, similar 125 4T. Maybe a Honda CBR 125. Not as much of a looker as the Yam but so much cheaper.
yh thanks, i would get a second hand one anyway so it will be cheaper and i think im staying with yamaha as im going to be riding it alot :good:
