Yamaha YP250 2002 front wheel speed sensor

Hi

The front wheel sensor on the scooter I have is an electronic sender unit. The unit fits against the wheel hub and is rotated by the wheel when moving.

I took it apart to replace the brake disc. I found the hub of the wheel is totally dry, no grease whatsoever!! the sensor and the hub just metal against metal.

Is this how it should be, or should it be covered in grease?

OK sorted. Spoke to a Yamaha dealer and was advised to put bearing grease on it.
