My sons 2011 Neos has a problem with the oil injector, it seems to have failed flooding the carb and barrel with oil causing compression lock even when it is not running.
Is this an easy fix or can we just bypass the injector system and opt for premixing directly into the fuel.

    Many thanks

    Will

I don't think it's a particularly easy fix, hopefully Scuba, Steve or Marsh can clarify that. But l reckon it's better to get it sorted properly because l've been led to believe premxing can cause all sorts of problems.

Actually l just realized you're talking about premixing on a 4 stroke. I'd be hesitant doing that on a modern 2t, let alone a 4t o_O

    Thanks for your reply,
    It is a 2 stroke.
i didn't think it would be an easy fix, the biggest problem is the bike has very little value and my son only needs another six months use from it before he goes to the army.
I think i will take my chances with premixing.

Actually, hydrolock isn't caused by the oil pump.
You will probably find that the fuel vacuum has failed allowing fuel to freeflow from the tank, past the carb float and overnight it is filling the cylinder on top of the piston not allowing it to rise to the top of the bore.
Easiest thing is to take the plug out, put a fresh rag in front of the plug hole, turn the engine with the kickstart NOT THE ELECTRIC START!!!! and the excess will shoot out the plug hole. Catch it with the rag otherwise it WILL go absolutely everywhere.
Once the excess is out the engine block, drain the fuel tank, replace the vacuum tap and away you go.

Yeah i thought so to. If its the oil. Just changed the oil pump. Cheap. But its probably the the vacuum petcock. Also cheap to fix
