hi i currently fixing a mates bike for him. he said he was riding along a few days ago and the bike just died as if he turned the ignition off. any ideas would be very helpful. i checked the plug and thats fine. i cleaned the carb and the fuel is getting there ok but the fuel tap is constantly letting fuel to the carb even when the ignition is off. could that be a problem at all. and every so often when trying to start it a big gust of air and sparks fly out of the exhaust. please help any info would be useful. thanks

Before you actually screw the plug in make sure theres a good spark Could also check the HT and ignition coil lead is ok and not tracking anywhere. Check the fuel and vacume lines for splits etc.. Just note/inspect the condition of general parts/items as you go along really Perhaps give the bike a bit of a service ?
