I removed the variator ring from my Neos 2 stroke and didnt have many problems. I reassembled everything and put got the bike started but the second I applied throttle the engine cooling fan shattered and now the bike will not start. Im not sure if there is a safety feature to prevent the ped starting when there is no fan installed. I have realised that the reason for the fan shattering is that the cover had a broken clip which caught the fan however is my scoot not starting just because of the fan or is it a further problem that the broke fan has caused

What about when you kick start it, what happens?

Sorry should’ve said that is on the kick start. I’ve already checked for a flooded engine and it’s not flooded, the spark plug is sparking and there is plenty of compression

It's possible something is preventing it from starting while the fan is inactive but I'm not convinced and I suspect it's unlikely. Your best bet is to hang tight till you get the right advice here.

I doubt it's related. If you have a spark and fuel the next step is to check compression. You can't feel comp through the kick-start or on your finger on the plug hole
