I recently acquired a non-runner for a bit of entertainment but it's turned into a real head scratcher.
No spark - nothing too unusual?
New plug, new coil, new HT lead, new plug cap, new stator, new CDI.
Battery is ok, voltage around 12.5ish. Fuse is fine.
Full continuity on all wiring in ignition circuit. All parts tested for correct resistance. Pick up coil gap as per manual.
I'm no sparky but I can read a circuit diagram and watch Youtube.
What have missed? Any suggestions gratefully received!

    Bad earth?
Or the ignition switch playing up

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been a bit time limited recently but I've checked various earth's and they seem fine.
Taking a look at the main switch, it looked like someone had been fiddling (missing screw). Checking continuity, seemed like a problem. In the '''on" there was continuity across b/w and black, but nothing on r and br. In "off", the opposite. I dismantled and reassembled, and got the right results.
    But no spark.
However, I also have no oil light? Could this be a sign of something?

If I recall, the oil light flicks on then off as you turn the key on.

Have you checked the wiring where it passes behind the flywheel, just to make sure it hasn't come loose and chaffed when it was running?
Could also be the flywheel itself.
I can't remember off hand how to check for it, but as the pip on the flywheel passes the pick-up it produces a small voltage (signal) to induce the cdi to send signal to the coil to produce a spark. Just for reference the pick-up to flywheel gap should be about 1mm, no idea what the book says it should be.

Thanks for all the suggestions. All the stator and pick up coil wires are new and tucked away (and there was plenty of spare!) when I switched them out.
I still suspect the main switch might be involved. Can I bypass it safely by clipping brown to red and black to b/w at the connector? Does the grey need to be connected to red too ? (Remember, I'm still not a sparky! :))

Ok, so I reluctantly bought a new switch set (seems a bit more robust than the old anyway). Plugged it in and still nothing.
    Then I noticed this.
The red connection is the new switch (identical to the old). The white one is the loom.
Check out the position of each colour wire
. Could this be the problem? The oil light does not come on in the 'check'' position but if you bypass the switch, and cross the grey and red, it lights up.

Switched the wires around so they match. Still no spark but at least the oil light now flashes on when I turn the key on!
Any more ideas? I've completely run out!!!
