here we go lol i have been having issues with the salient for a few weeks and today i decided to investigate and fix the niggles

first off electrical fault keep blowing headlights lights found out a connection has been fixed (bodged) in the past which melted a screw up connection joint so took that off and found this inside, the connection has obviously snapped off.

left what should be screwed in and at the end should be a connection like on the right

number two bike hasnt been running right and has lost power so i removed spark plug to find out it looked like this and had a chip in the ceramic bit so will replace that too

whilst i was working on it i noticed a bit of oil on the transmission case to i instantly took off my oil cap which was very loose like someone has been tampering with it so i cleaned it for now and will get some new oil and o ring tomorrow to be safe and give it a full flush, this could also be why its sluggish maybe.

and last but not least i looked in my air filter case to find a little petrol (as normal) but my airfilter is like a scourer type material which looks like its seen better day so i am going to get a genuine yamaha one tomorrow heres a pic also can see daylight through it

any suggestion on what oil and what else to check on it for loss of power

all work done today including new spark plug and transmission oil couldnt get a connection like i need at local bike parts shop so not good and original n.o.s air filter coming also put it back together and runs a little better but i think the slutch might be slipping now as if i accelerate it isnt as responsive and sort of feels to be slower and takes its time to get up to speed and when i am stood still i can put it in low revs and it will sort of judder thats why i think the clutch is slipping
