if you mean the powervalve then by turning it you gain top end but lose a lot at the bottom end, so unless you thrash the ass off it all the time you will actually make it slower. you are better off getting the powervalve working, unless it is a late bike it is not that hard, I did it to a DTR I had a few years a go.
