Hi everyone im Connor and new to scooter shack, ive got a 2009 aerox r. im having a problem with mine it takes ages to start ( about 20 kicks ) and when it does its fine untill i swich it off and it leaks out petrol ( from the overflow pipe on the bottom of the float bowl ). i have cleaned the float about 5 times and the pin is fine and the carb seems clean .

either the needle is worn in the carb, the float level too low or theres dirt in the jet recess stopping it closing fuel off

thanks for the reply stig, needle seems fine, I think its a problem with the float level as it is very low but does anyone know how to raise it as the screw is tight.

not seen the carb on your bike but most 2 stroke carbs floats are adjusted by carefully bending the tang that touches the bottom of the needle. IF the bike was running OK before its more than likely its dirt stopping the needle from closing off the fuel flow. If the bike is new to you and dont know its history, first check its clean and then adjust the tang...go from there................
