yamaha aerox starter motor issue

i have just baught a yamaha aerox the other day and the guy who i bought it off of said the starter motor had to be taken off due to the stage 6 parts?
there is still a starter motor on it and when i put a wire back onto the starter motor it makes a noise like there is something spinning but not like it’s trying to start the bike at all i have a video but it doesn’t let me put it on here.
does anyone know what the problem could be

 

Take transmission cover off to have a look, has it got a S6 outer pulley ? if so it does'nt have teeth for starter motor.

 

i’m not sure if it has a s6 outer pulley but the person who i bought it from said the starter motor doesn’t work because of the stage 6 parts which i thought he was just saying as an excuse haha thank you i’ll have a look tomorrow
