I own a 2006 yamaha aerox it is still a 50cc but i have the following upgrades: - Polini speed clutch - Polini varriator (4.9g rollers) - Leo vince zx hand made exhuast - Malossi sports filter - Malossi drive belt I have had the bike jetted to suit by profesionals. I only recently fitted the polini parts as the bike would accelerate very very slow to about 50. ONce i fitted the parts the bike still will only do 50mph but just gets there abit quicker. I would like to know whats wrong with my bike as my mate has just a standered aerox with a sports exhuast but he is doing about 60 - 65mph ? Also the owner before me fitted a new cylinder which is a 50cc but is not an orignial yamaha one and the exhuast manifold is very small i was wondering if that effect the performace. Thanks.
The 50cc copy cylinder is probably the problem, had one in a while ago running a cheap copy kit and he had the same problem, removed the cylinder and the ports were terrible, all over the place and nothing like the original configeration and yes the exhaust port was tiny. We had a spare yamaha cylinder laying about so we honed it and fitted an new piston, hey presto much better and more speed without touching any thing else.
Ok thanks. I was just wondering would a "big" named tunning make 50cc cylinder be as good such as a doppler one or an aluminium airsal one? This is as i was quoted £210 for a yamaha one or would a second hand yamaha one be any good? Thanks.
just get a sport 70 its just as ilegal as your bike is atm and cheaper by the sounds of it plus then your bike will be faster
well i need a 50cc as my dad wont let me get a 70cc so i was just wondering if there are any good 50cc cylinders out there ?
