ok about 2 weeks ago my mate rode through a flood on his ped (yamaha aerox 55 plate.) ever since its been a bit shagged.

    Things we have done.
    changed spark plugs.
    drained/clean carb.
    oil change.
    dried out exhaust baffels.
removed oil tank and done oil changed.
    dried airbox.
    dried out engine case.
we then went onto the bore and could see it had loads of water in it. so we took out the spark plug and kicked it over. all (or nearly all) the water came out the bore. we then put the pil tank back in.
This still hasnt made any difference.
NOTE THE BIKE DOES START AND RUNS
just when you pull back throttle and hold it all the way back the revs pick up and the back wheel spins round a bit for like 2 seconds, and then it dies down really low (still with throttle all way back) and then picks up again.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE CAN DO? I THINK IT NEEDS A NEW BORE.
    THANK YOU FOR ANY CONTRIBUTIONS.

had exactly the same problem, its simple really.

the connection between the alternator/flywheel is shorting out, on piggy lumps its a simple plug down by the flywheel/alternator itself.

Its obviously got water in the plug connector so undo it and dry it out.

not too sure where it is on yammys tho, but i hope that it is the problem.

    well i cant be 100%

but had the exact symptoms, and went through everything you did and it turned out to be electrical.

it sounds like either fuel starvation or an electrical fault, more likely electric because electrics dont like water....

could be a cold seize, sudden cooling on the barrel will cause the piston to go tight inside it.

im almost 100% sure its what i had, it sounds like a seize and fuel starvation, kind of like its only sparking every other stroke too. but its because the ignition is shorting out.

and this would be caused by riding through a flood......

failing that, seals, drain your crank cases and replace crank seals, water will blow them.

"sorry to tell you sir, but im afraid you need new crank mains seals, cylinder piston and carb, and stator, variator, clutch, gearing, and a new front wheel."

"we have already started to carry out the work so if you could please pay us the 1300 pounds upfront that would be good."
