Yamaha aerox 100c spark problem

Hi guys so i have a 100cc yamaha aerox that recently someone tried to Rob it and hotwire it so i had to buy a new ignition, after fitting it the bike will only spark once every press off the button so I did a bit off messing and managed to get it to run but with the ignition off an putting a screw driver across the solinoied,... anyone have any idear, I'm thinking maybe a dodgy igniting?
