My Bike after the crash I was in.... skip to around 40 seconds

Quite funny, my Seat snapped clean off, I said to myself 'how the hell did that come off' and the Driver said it was probably a safety mechanism for crashes, like.. an ejector seat lol! Guy was definitely on something!

    oh dear :( :( :( :( :(
    are you ok jojo?
atleast you have it on camera and should be able to settle a claim quickly if the other person has insurance... bit of a tip, push your insurance to push it through quickly and go for every bit of compensation you can injury wise!

your not a bad rider, nice road positioning, nice throttle control, good distance away from cars infront..
clearly the other driver is at fault, what a idiot :(

Exactly scootzmadness, the fact he admitted fault as well which I had on Camera and the Police Officer heard it and noted it down in the statement.... plus 2 witnesses which he also got statements from, and obviously the footage, so he can't really deny it now and I cant see how his Insurance Company can get out of it!

Only issue I had was with the company who took my Bike, they gave me some paperwork and said if it's repairable then they'll repair it, but if not or they don't think it's worth it, they'll write it off, in which case I can either get it back and do the repairs myself, or a salvage company will buy it from me for disposal, but i'd imagine i'd hardly get anything near the £1650 I paid for it in May....... obviously i'd take the money anyway as theres no way I can get it repaired myself, and then hope I do actually get some money from the Injury etc to then put towards it for another Bike, but even then i'm looking at months and months down the line, Bike company will have it for about 6 weeks apparently, and this whole Injury Claim will apparently take months and months, fair enough I can hire a Bike but I would actually like my own one and get back to normal!

They did ask about a hire Bike but I said no at the moment as I can barely walk, I have soft tissue damage in my left, knee down is all swollen and bruised, also feeling a burning sensation at times as well... i've also had bad aching pains in my arms, ribs and sides obviously making it hard to move around, even trying to pull tight the rope around my dressing gown hurt!

But yeah, Insurance Company got everything, footage, photos, Incident number and so on, and I got the Solicitor coming here tomorrow to start on this Injury Claim, kind of annoying though but ah well, sh*t happens!

if your insurance company are good they can settle the bikes claim within a month. swinton have always been fairly good with me and they settled on my yzfr125 vs cavalier crash in a few weeks. it depends on how good or bad they are. the other insurance company deffinately cant get out of this one.
its been over a year since the head on with the clio and still not got the injury claim settled, that's the bugger, its worth waiting for though, im due around £7k for that one and £3 1/2k for the yzfr125 crash. so be prepared for it to take quite some time. fingers crossed it wont but if you have a good injury solicitor should be settled quickly.

be prepared to have to see lots of specialist doctors etc. you will need to for the claim.
if its mainly panel damage, price up the panels you would need used, add in the cost of a respray if needed and see if its worth repairing, if its frame damage etc, don't bother.

I had my bikes recovered by a company I knew and trusted (ok I worked for them but..) so cant really comment on that process because my ex employer dealt with all the paperwork and invoicing insurance company for recovery etc.

some JD and coke or just straight JD helps with taking your attention away from the pain.. did you go to the hospital?

Well i'm with BikeSure for Insurance... and they got Thorneycroft Solicitors to sort the Claim for me, I also had a login from them for their website and app which shows me step by step on what will happen and it checks off which step we're on which I thought was good.

and a company called BLD collected my Bike yesterday for assessment, BikeSure arranged all that as well, they said they usually have the Bikes for about 6 weeks to assess (thought that was a bit long).

and yep, Ambulance came to the scene and did some tests there and then, then took me in and I couldn't walk on my leg properly, I was in the Hospital, had X-Rays, luckily nothing broken, just soft tissue damage, but over the past few days now (as accident was Wednesday) my knee downwards and foot have just blown up, and started getting the burning pains now and then, obv the aching and so on as well... (and I dont drink so that doesnt help lol)

get yourself down the doctors. make sure its all noted down. get doctors notes if you can. the more evidence you have to back up the injury claim the better. trust me.

I think I read that they get the notes from the Hospital, will ask tomorrow though when the Solicitor guy is here.

Some photos of my leg... foot/ankle etc have blown up, and 2 marks on the top of my thigh, couldn't really get a good photo of the main bit on my ankle/leg though, but its darker than the photos, and the red line I could run my fingers across it and not feel anything, also gently push a little and couldn't feel anything... the main pain in on the side of my leg, obv where the car hit it, thats where the burning is so either a torn or damaged muscle in some way.

Did you swing your leg out of bed 1st thing in the morning, forgetting about the day before - always a delightful wake up call...not! -
least your still swinging it with the best of em,you've a pukka attitude about the whole affair,if you can put it down to experience, bit of a rest.heal yourself up & hopefully a fair sensible rider such as yourself will be back on 2 in no time & have many more good years in the saddle.mark

Having a quick scout around, you wont replace that bike, like for like, for under £1800. So barter with the insurance company on their offer if they come back with one.
Was that driver asleep when he turned? You were right on top of the junction, how the hell did he not see you.
I bet that if his history was dug into, he's had accidents like this before. Wonder if the copper will do him for undue care and attention.

yeah. never take the first offer. theres always room for them to go higher. usually a few printscreens of bikes similar on ebay to yours at more than the value does the trick.

sorry to see this, i like pcx's always a shame to see accidents like this

glad its not alot of damage to yourself. good luck getting it all sorted.

p.s injury claims can get drawn out abit as they need to assess long term injuries

i know how you feel, I had a recent accident where my left foot was crushed, I did not break anything but I did suffer soft skin tissue damage, pulled ligaments in my knee, massive bruising, my knee and below was huge due to swelling, and I managed to get 2 DVT's, one in my calf muscle and one in my foot, I was lucky in that I did not come off my bike (I was riding my fazer 1000 not my scooter), I was off work 8 weeks and I have only been back 4 weeks, I couldn't walk for 5 weeks, then 1 week with a walking stick, I still cannot run and I still have issues with my knee and foot which may take several months to heal fully, I have a claim going on but that will take a while till it pays out.
good luck on your recovery and claim.

Hey guys, haven't been on here for awhile...
I had the cheque for the £1419, and I had to get proof of other 2013 Bikes for more than £2k,
cheapest was around £2150, but yeah, for the £1419, waiting on the cheque for the disposal which is supposed to be £231 but could be lower.... the other Insurers said in the letter (with the cheque) that it was an interim payment (lowest i'll get from them) so have to wait for them to look over the costs of other 2013 Bikes and wait for them to get back to the company sorting the claim and blah blah blah, I have around £2100 at the mo, just waiting for that £231 cheque to come.... as then I can possibly get a 2014 one I seen for around £2300, but will still have to pay around £150-70 for a Bike Courier... so yeah, it's just the waiting game, same with the injury claim.... I still have no feeling in part of my shin, the red line (from the photos above), theres no feeling, I have to wait for the third party to reply to the Injury Solicitors whether they admit liability or not, if they do, then i'll be sent to a Physio and they'll make a report, i'll just have to take my iPad with all the photos on from the injury as obviously most of the bruising has gone now, but still some pain and slight bruising in that 'no feeling' area, so will just have to wait and see!

REALLY WANT TO GET BACK ON A BIKE THOUGH, i've been stuck in for just over a month now, it's hell, so many times i've wanted to get my Helmet etc on and just go for a ride, but can't!

I had the Hire Bike from BLD Group but it was hell, also the Speedometer didn't even work which is illegal... so they collected that straight away and I said I don't really want to hire from them, the fact the Bike I had seemed REALLY unsafe to ride as well, thought i'd wait now over winter and get the Bike when the weather picks up again but theres been a few days now where theres been no rain and the suns been out, and just feeling gutted I cant go out!

I got the Sony AS30v Camera....

and my accident was November and we've now just come to an agreement on the Bike money, third party insurers were going to pay me the £1650 back that I paid for my Bike, well £1419 from them and then the rest from the disposal.... but I said theres no other Bikes available for £1650, so they only now increased that to £1950, I thought sod it and wasn't going to wait any longer so i accepted that, so I had £1419 from the insurers first, and now waiting for another cheque from them for £250 odd, and waiting for the disposal money which is from Bankstone, which is about £270 odd but they said they wont be sending that until the beginning of March! and the third party have only now got back to the injury solicitors admitting liability so now have to go and create medical reports for my injury etc etc etc and wait to see how much I get from that, but I still have no feeling in my shin where the Car hit me soooo... have to wait and see what's what, but atleast the Bike side of things is now agreed, just have to wait for those 2 cheques.

Thorneycroft, it's the ones I went through with the Insurance, that's only taken it's time due to the third party insurers not getting back to them and requested more time to 'investigate' before admitting liability :-/ but yeah, just waiting to hear back tomorrow now about a physio and go from there.
