there's a guy selling a honda pantheon 125 scooter in good nik in my area for £150.the problem is he says the engine is noisy[crinkly]probably bearing on crankshaft and the starter is noise as well.it is cheap but will it cost to much to fix.if its not to hard i will try to fix it myself or will i be taking on to much?
hmm, i suppose you could just put new engine in etc but seems cheap. depends on what it is like when you come to strip the bike
If you can do the work yourself go for it sounds worth a punt, particularly if you can haggle him down a bit. If not it's probably not worth it.
The older ones are 2t with powervalve , i dont know much about them but from brief experience it's a c*nt to work on, newer ones are 4t 4 valve motors and are normally a very sound engine, slightly noisy can be anything from valve clearances needing adjusting to a mashed big end , i personally wouldn't get involved in a job if i'm not confident in knowing the problem, could be a 5 min repair or a expensive pain in the ass . Check it out properly is my advise on this one
