exactly why the scootertuning scene in england is so resrtricted.

people need to pass on information, im not complaining right now as im only at the stage where im starting to learn crank fitting but when it comes to that i would like some help.

its a shame i probabally wont get it.

    ah fuck it

il go buy a dremel and learn the expencive way.

    put it this way simply,

if people are told and not shown, they will get it wrong!
and who will get the blame when that £500 engine goes bang? the person who tried explanin it.

best bet, leave it to the people with experience.

ive got to say i agree with jamies on this, if people had more accessible information there would be many more mental scooters on the british roads.

I know that if i had more information i would be giving it a go

Alot more mental scoots on the road along with these mental 16yo's that dont know how to ride LOL
then theyl be bringin over the portable dyno machines from germany to test the power of your bike..fun fun fun
and LIVELY16 theres alot of useful info on the web, just got to find it..anyway u need to learn exactly how a engine works (blowdown times, port layouts etc.) before you even pick up a dremel.

measuring post duration is no big secret really.

first you'll need a timing wheel, bolt it onto your crank, make up a pointer, set the point where the exhaust port begins to open @ 0 then turn until the exhaust port has just fully closed, this will give you your EPD in degrees.

its the numbers you should be getting that are the secret. anyone willing to learn, buy a guide to 2 stroke tuning my Graham Bell.

if your looking for more power, your best bet first off if you havnt done it already would be to enlarge your transfer ports on both the barrel and the casings, easy power can be got from here for the whole rev range, a basic guidline would be to have e.g. 2mm of gasket face left to seal against the casings, and trim your gaskets to suit.

next up would be to flow the casings through the reedblock inlet to the transfers in the casings, there are several sharp edges which restrict airflow here.

if you have a nice word with graham (MinorConfusion) he might be able to sort you some photos.
in the meantime i will try and dig some out
