Well i decided it was time to rebuild the area51, first i stripped all the plastics off and de-greased the chassis. next i put the newly built sport 70 engine into the chassis and fitted the sidestand. ------- Update: Just had the motor running, struck up 3rd kick, video up later. sounds sweet, needs idle mix setting up and down-jetting as it bogs like hell but i'll leave that until i've run it up a couple of times, now i know it works i'll get the engine bolts in tight and start to bui8ld it up. also think i'll need another inlet manifold as the standard one is slightly too close to the engine cradle. ------- Update: The flaot height is a little high which is causing it to bog (flooding out at low RPMS), this is an easy fix. just got the bike to run from its own fuel supply (was running from a remote fuel line). next job is to get the exhaust fitted properly (currently held in place with a bungee strap). ------- Update: flooding sorted, unused vaccum hole blanked, front suspension rebuilt and the bike is about ready to be built up.
At the moment: Top racing crank and c4 mains flowed cases multivar kevlar belt gear-up top-performance (DR) 70 kit yasuni c16 Malossi (delorto) 21mm carb as soon as my spare motor comes: Flowed cases Multivar Kevlar belt Gear-up BGM pro evolution crank (12mm pin) Polini Evo2 70 kit C16 21mm dellorto carb. may look into getting a c21.
evo 2 is the updated version, they claim 1bhp more from it on an optimum setup (still listed as evo though) the main diferences are the piston, the evo is a gillardoni piston and the evo2 has a polini forged piston.
nice little project mate, you should have some serious fun on that , whats the plans for the body work?
thinkning of re-spraying back to standard but without the stickers (black and orange/red) or possibly all black, not really sure yet.
evo 2 has 3 exhaust ports too.. a single huge square one and 2 aux ports ether side. the evo has 2 large triangular ports. area is equal but the 2 supports means less ring wear
