Atleast you didn't say the after effects should wear of by the 90's, then they would be bad ;)

My dads friend has a GS1200, sounds nice with Akrapovic pipes but I've sat on it and revved it, whole bike shakes to the left when you rev it, which is scary on something that's as big as the starship enterprise:p

Oh they were never fast, 28-30 mph tops, but on town streets, 30 mph everywhere! Does it still have the original back box, if so it'll sound real fruity if you drill a 10mm hole where the exhaust exits, but no bigger!, it should accel a bit quick too, only a bit! It'll sound like the one on me youtube vid...

    Still have original rickman (solid!,was red/painted white),(rebuildable lock)had to hacksaw nuts/bolts off mind.as 3/4's down thread,"i ain't fekking moving,w....r!",
original front carrier too,bar peel/off-age related.,
she can be brisk on acceleration, but has a tendency to 'choke on' for 1st hundred,
she'll bang right up to 20 well, and, will head further-
but feels like your pushing against a barrier.,
not 'conversant' with scooter ....powerbands?.or complete engine characteristics as opposed to say more familiar like a 5spd,single,2t.

it'll sit there all day at 30 mph, maybe carb needs a clean if choke feels stuck on, is it still the original airbox, if so, youll have no bother with her, dont try and make her go faster, crank seals WILL fail.

Yea,heard about the p.ss poor cranks, you can't replace this side of a gay martian being elected to parliament. :) .,
I've never and won't ever consider tuning her-
she's pure an simply a getabout and I would think my lifetime object lesson.
Thought about bi-mettalic strip itself.well.it's 12345,32 yrs old/reckon,so's probaly fatigued-
don't fancy looking for too much in way of replacement bits now as she's is reasonably sorted.
carb.clean, would say viable, but have'nt thought as much/self,as can tell it was worked on before I bought it.noticeable by new pipes/clips + relitively clean externally,
airbox in itself = bog, albut had it off /cleaned till practically sterile (ocd ahoy. :) ., +
cut new filter, oiled, fitted, speaking of which.must remind myself, not!!!! to overoil next time,as big puddle under ped in morning,oops......,
not a nice thing to see at 02:15 in the morning heading to a shift (till it clicked, mind ;) .
