Looking foir a little help if you could please guys, ignore the colours list as thats for the rear light when im done with the front. Right as you can see the new headlight has 4 wires, 2 from each bulb The old unit has more, what i want to know is what wires do i wire to where to get them to work correctly? any help much apriciated
i dont know about aeroxes i could easily be wrong... that purpley one to white and the black to black for the sidelight. yellow or green (one or the other) to white and the black to black for main you should only have 1 extra wire just wrap it in electrical tape
superb, thankfully little brother figured it out and the fronts are working and fitted! now for the rear 8-( this is where we have got stuck all wires unplugged for the rear end, the number plate light has been left unplugged. We have 3 wires for the rear light, black and 2 others We then have a black for both indicators and then one colour to each side. The rear light came with these odd crimps that one wire passes through and another goes into and stops. We have used these crimps to put both indicator black wires onto the rear brake light black, so that all 3 blacks are going into one. is this correct? The rest of the colours dont really match so i assume its a case of plug and see, but it seems no matter what we do, no light comes from any of the leds, we have tried the indicators and the brake and rear light and not a peep. any ideas?
err as i said i dont know about aeroxes...but the three for the rear, one is for braking, one is for tail (on when lights are on) and obv a black for ground. im guessing the wire that 'passes through' is part of the num plate light circuit maybe...hard to say for deffo without a pic. if you have all the blacks going to the brake then what is connected to the indys? i take it the list you posted are the wires you see there? go by that if so. right indy = orange+black, left = white+black. dont connect anything together that wasnt originally conenctd like that generally speaking ped lights are quite simple, usually a black and another wire are all thats needed for them to work, theres rarely a need to change were things go ect. also a multimeter will save you hours of ballache when it comes to wiring issues even the £3 one off ebay (which is the same as the tenner one from maplins) will make it 10 times easier garanteed oh and it might be worth checking fuses if still no luck
right il clear things up a little and explain a bit better as i have had some progress. Ignore the wire colour chart, it was something i found on google but it dosent match my str8 light. My bike has the following wires: Black (100% sure its the earth) Red and blue (100% sure thats tail) Green and yellow (100% sure its brakes) i then have the left and right indys, cant remeber their colours but the right is tapped off Now i know 100% for the above stated as i have used a multimeter and even tested the tail light with the old number plate light to check it lights up which it does. However wireing up the str8 rear light so the str8's black negative lead goes to the bikes black, and then trying any of the other wires from the str8 into the tail light gets 0 output, no light not a flicker. so i assume i have a duff light unit? the bikes still putting out the correct voltage on all the wires but the str8 shows no sighns of life. What do you guys think?
yeah if one of the coloured ones and a black isnt doing it and ur sure its connected right and getting power then it will be ur light http://s675.photobucket.com/albums/vv118/hmmmnz2/scooters/?action=view¤t=Yamahaaerox5097.jpg wiring diagram there^
cheers bud, i have the full manual for the aerox 100 on the mac hehe i got the exact colours today from the shop and nothing happens, they then told me to run direct power to the rear tail light and again nothing, so for now thats on its way back and my stocker is fitted with no indis lol
