Dare i say it, but with the gloomy months not to far ahead of us i am considering a new Jacket for the Winter months.Reasonably waterproof (though i don't expect miracles in heavy downpours) and preferably with the armour protection.Up to around the £200 mark would be a sensible guide. Any suggestions from a tried and tested view point?

I personally like the spada gear. nice and comfortable. ive used mine through showers etc but I keep a waterproof overcoat and trousers under the seats of all my bikes and scoots just incase. the jacket I have has the shoulder, upper and mid back protection, elbows and lower arms. its a really nice jacket. good for summer too, just remove the inner lining. I have the trousers and boots too for when I just don't want to wear leathers. spada do some really nice gear. im getting one of their helmets next, nice motocross style with a visor on. their gear is both reasonably priced and pretty damn good quality. my jacket was £115 inc vat. trousers were £100, boots were £115 for a size 16 (had to be specially ordered in. gloves were £50 but well worth it!

Cheers for the reply scootzmadness, will look into their gear :). That reminded me also to invest in a new pair of gloves ( for spare). Current ones being RST Adventure.Nice and very well protected but take a good 2-3 days to dry out if they have had a good wash.

opinions on spada gear are divided at the moment but for non leather stuff, they are my favourite. ive tried all sorts of brands and spada really are the best for me. youll find a brand you like eventually that suit what you want and need. I get my leathers made and they've cost ALOT so unless im on lesson with my instructor or im on the yzf-r125 then I just wear the spada gear. I usually wear gloves out within 2 months. 4 months now with spada gloves and im not looking back.

I had 2 sets of police gear (family contacts), wouldn't let me have the helmet though even though they change them every 6 months.
These days I have belstaff, ricah sub zero gloves, rst trousers, and of course the obligatory work provided rubber one piece over trousers. Which i have to say are fantastic at keeping the rain off your b*ll**ks. Which is where all the usual stuff leaks!!!
