    im looking to get a malossi varaitor for my gilera runner 172.
    and all so a malossi clutch but wot im wonting to no is will a gilera runner 125 vxr
    malossi varaitor fit my gilera runner....so if any body could tell me if it will fit or not would grate......thanks..............

    oh. is vxr 4stoke...

    why would they sell a 4t var if the 2t one fit's?

    spacers/shaft length are different..

    The Polini variator for the 4t fits the 2T but it dont work very well (yes we`ve actually tried it on the strip), it`s 2mm bigger all round and in the quest for more range thought it might work....lost us a full second.
    As minor says the spacing, roller ramp angle, centre pin length and the back ramp angle are all different in subtle ways but enough to make a big difference in performance.
    It`d work on the street but would probably feel like running flattened rollers.
    Malossi not sure of but not worth taking a punt at the price, stick to the correct parts for the model.

    the malossi 2stroke a 4 stroke variator have the same part number altho the backplate, rollers and spacer are different...

    will take ages to order the replacment parts and more to the point they will probably cost more than half what the variator kit costs.
