im only 16 so need a 50 but a cheap 100 zip has come up in better condition  than mine and it will be easier to swap the engines over can u do so
You should use the search before making a new topic. This has been covered before. http://www.scootershack.co.uk/maxis...a-100cc-zip-engine-on-my-50cc-zip-t22285.html
if you put the 50 engine in 100 frame then it will be registered as a 100 and ive heard its a pretty long process going down in cc
You can't just register a 100cc bike as a 50cc. That would be a pretty silly thing for them to let you do. Might as well go out and by a Yamaha r6 and register it as a 50cc.
In simple terms, if it's not registered as a 50 you're not riding it. You've got to go through a long process with the DVLA and an official vehicle check. Get a 50 and don't piss about, it'll just piss money away.
it can be done but would probably cost more than a decent 50 although if you go ahead with it i have a set of 50cc zip crank cases forsale
It is possible but the question you have to ask is why? You're buying something to then rip the engine out of, fuck about putting another engine in, getting it all ready for the road, paying to have a vehicle inspection and then awaiting for any necessary paper work through. Not saying it can't be done, as it can. Just trying to save you a little money! If you do, let me know I've got a Zip 70 engine & some standard 50 cases if you want to build something from scratch. :good:
