Whats the widest tyre I can use on a Jog RR? Standard is 130/70-12, just not sure if a 140/60 would fit, don't want to buy it and find out it rubs on the exhaust or spring. Anybody know?
130/70 is actually a bit wider than 140/60. 120/80 or 120/90 is what you're after..if it fits. If u multiply the first number by the 2nd one you get the width in millimetres and two extra 0s..
Tyres work this way. For example take a 130/70/12. 130 refers to the width of the tyre 70 refers to the profile of the tyre, or depth if you prefer 12 refers to the diameter or rim fit of the tyre. Your concern of it rubbing on the exhaust or spring is not the problem you need to look at. The problem is whether it will rub on the inside of the engine casing first, or even allow you to put the wheel back on the bike if you go too wide, i.e. a 140/60/12 instead of a 130/70/12 Most scooters will happily take a 130/70/12, with maybe a change of rear hugger, not always but sometimes
