You have to think of what wheels you want, how bodge you want the bike to be in terms of fitting in the larger rad and bottle so air cooled or lc, and where the hell you are going to get a loom from.

Wheels are the biggest decider on engine.

well i was thinkin air cooled because i should be able to use my nrg rim on the back, also wanting to put lc ignition in but that wont be for a while, there is a full wiring loom for the engine going for 25 so i could just get it with it. also i have heard things about the older engines having weak cranks? is this true?

You will then need a small drum old style typhoon engine. SR engines wont work and without looking i'm not sure if skippers are small or big drum.

The really really old engines with weird looking transmission cases as standard (not always the way to tell as someone could have changed it) have an odd sized crank that you can't get replacements for so you don't want one of them.

Sounds like it may be the old old one that I would steer clear of!
