ok so ive now got blue clutch springs (malossi) in my bike and the take off is still not brilliant but ok. however top speed is a bore! its doing about 40-45 at a push when it used to do 50 or maybe just over. the other day i took off the tranny case and changed the rollers and then started up my bike with the cover off. the belt seemed to be flapping a lot like up and down when it went round. but i took off the variator to look at the crank shaft and it seemed fine? could my belt be stretched and this is what is causing my loss of top end? cheers

yes i could, how many miles has it done on that belt? if more than 3000 invest in a malossi x kevelar belt about £30 and it will restore some of ur bikes lost power

ye, when i had my aerox i bought it with 3200 on the clock. it did 45 on flat, got a new belt and rollers and it did about 55 on flat (speedo speeds) by a mallosi or polini kevelar belt as its only a couple of quid more and they last alot longer with out streatching.

ok cheers mate im 99 percent sure its stretched because when i went to put it back over the drive after taking off the variator i had to barely pull it to get on there! fridays wages on new belt then!

wot other mods do you have? im not sure wot 1ns i had in my rox but i think they were 5.5 or 5.4 malossi, all i had was a malossi belt and rollers and it did 50-55 ish on the clock on flat.

I had a similar problem and thought it was the belt. My stock belt (Bando) is still intact after 5000km and no signs of wear. I changed out my contra/driven/torque spring and all is good again. The old one just got worn out and shifter too early, even with lighter roller weights.

cool, my advice might of worked? I know it helped me (had to go heavier rollers) but to give advice to you guys where scooters rule is cool, in the USA scoots are frowned on and most don't know anything about tuning them.

im starting to get pissed off with my bike now. since fitting the torque spring the accelertion is good but it tops out at 40-45. ive tried 4.5, 5 and 5.5 g rollers and it satill wont go over 45 on the flat when it used to do 50.

so to summarise. my bike just went slow one day....
to fix it i have tried........
    new belt.
    loads of sets of rollers e.g 4.5 5 5.5 and 6.5 g.
put in new clutch springs and a new torque spring (both blue malossi torque spring and blue malossi clutch springs.)
and its still going slow top end. is there anything else i could try?

your contra spring is too tight and the motor cant physically pull the belt high enough is my guess.
