for some reason i dont no y but after bringing my gilera dna in from the snow for a few weeks cleaned all the grime off it and replaced a carb with a malossi 21mm but then decided against it put the original back on run the battery down tryin to start it after another couple of weeks finally get a charge into my battery and just run it down tryin to start it again, before i brought it in it started straight away,can anyone help what have i done :banghead: please.?
im pressing the electric start its sparking over but engine not starting stinks of petrol??? please anyone??if the engines flooded what do i do?
i have removed the exhaust to find it full of a petrol and water i mean it poured out of the end can,whats happened?please
is it water cooled if so then sounds like the gasket if air cooled look in petrol tank to see if there is water in it
if the bike has been sitting there for a few weeks the petrol in your carb can get really sticky, get rid of the petrol in your tank then take the carb off clean it (not with petrol get propercarb cleaner) clean the jets you can do this by getting a air line and flushing them through with that (e.g at your local petrol station) once the carb is all clean, replace the petrol in your tank, put the carb back on and try again, if this doesnt work then buy a new plug and try again then. i hope this helps
thanks very much,was carb and gasket problem,all running now needed a new piston and seals water came through split gaskets, top man. :good: old piston was black mate obviously running lean got a sports pipe on it and a air filter sponge in air box think it on a 65 jet whats a good size to rejet to.?thanks again
