Not wishing to tempt fate but every bloody biker of any form I speak too regales me of the times when they have come off their bikes either through their fault or a numpty drivers and had to be shoveled in to the back of an ambulance with the remains of their limbs as if it were some great feat of masculinity. Personally, I would prefer not to ever come off my bike but I am unsure if this is statistically possible. So, out of curiosity, who hasn't come off their bike and how long have you been riding?
no pins no bumps no broken bones... not a single road accident in 14 years of riding on road (well, slid into someone in ice while breaking, literally tapped the bumper an we both drove off/wheely related accidents but they were all "off road" honest)
Riding since the 70's and an ex-courier....what do you reckon?. .,it's really got nothing to do with how big your kahonas are it's pretty much part 'an parcel of life, see the same sort of attitude with people who end up in nick/seem to think there's something special about it.b......s / sh.t happens sometimes!. .
Bet i regret this... Me and my little scoot have yet to part company, yes we have come close, but due to superior riding skills, still shiny side up.. Last time i fell off, was really funny.. Mr traffic cop was directing the traffic around a accident, when he raised his hand for me to stop, the front wheel slipped oily surface. me, well i ended kissing his boot, thankfully we both laughed about it. Pride more bruised than the bike...
^ ,i'm gonna take a wild guess here!,bet your familiar with.the "don't count your chickens before they hatch ",scenario. .
iv'e had my ped for 6 days and came off it yesterday . went into the back of a learner after an old lady stepped out and they had to emergency stop , nothing serious ,just had a little slide up the road on my side , the learner sh.t themselves ,thought I was dead lol no damage to my ped or self , but will teach me not to ride too close to other cars in future . e2a grammer
Welcome to the club (p2),good to hear the attitude after you came off!!, Good mantra in your head when riding "everyone else is a idiot",can't go far wrong with that one - early days set up for that 6th sense you hope to develop down the road , (and not in the literal sense). ;-) .
you do learn alot from falling off first accident on the road i was racing a friend on a 172 i was on a derbi gpr took a corner hard and hit the deck, there was gravel inbetween the car tyre tracks if that makes sense, didnt stand a chance had to ride home with my jacket melted to my arm and knee bone poking out
Ive come off my first ped twice, through my own stupidity to be honest. I got new brakes and they needed breaking in, but i thought i was cool doing like 50 meter skids down the road infront of the ladies Only to embarrass myself when I overcooked it and skidded on to the floor, Thank god for my helmet ..... Not for my safety, but so they couldnt see my face and laugh at me when i walked past them at a later date lol. the second time my mate lifted the back end up, I revved it to the max and he lost grip, the back wheel touched the ground, I wheelied about 100 yards and couldnt get the front back down, which resulted in me falling off again. But ive grown up now and I am much much more careful, I wear proper clothes, HI-VIS jackets and drive like a granny, This still doesnt change the way other w*nkers drive ! they think because your on a ped you deserve to be bullied. and ive had many close calls, and im sure ill have many more.
