Am going to change the plug and rollers in my scoot, Minor mentioned ages ago that my rollers are too heavy, im running 6.5 at the moment, would 5.5 be better or should i go lighter?

Whats the best plug to use?

    my setup is:

    vespa lx 2t
    Maolssi 70 (Iron)
    Malossi 21mm carb (70 main)
gainelli smile (cant get anything else for my scoot )

use the standard plug *i think*.. and as for the rollers.. you gotta think that thats an entire gram each roller.. so x1 gram by 6 (6g).. thats a whole 6g lighter of the whole variator.. 5.5 sounds around standard on most bikes.

surely if you have a 70 kit.. you would want heavier rollers... if 6.5 is standard .. you wanna go heavier.. wait for minor confusion to reply.. he will know more

try them and see, if you need to go heavier then go heavier, i would say try 1 gram heavier and see.

why would you need heavier rollers for a 70? in prittymuch all cases std rollers are too heavy for any other pipe as there for mid rev power. the more power you have the lighter they need to be as you want more force to push less weight at the same speed so accel is nice an smooth

is it ok to ...mix 3and3 and if that set up suites your bike then keep 3and3 or should you just work out the weight divide by 6 getting the 6 rollers all the same weight or can you leave it as 3 and 3... if you get what i mean

after a while the heavier 3 will wear quicker meaning the roller's arnt pushing at the same time, so the weight is diff. the lighter rollers will also rattle about.. verry annoying

its best to use NEW rollers 3x3 untill you find somthing right then match the weight so you have 6 uniform rollers

i bought myself an accurate set of scales off ebay (acurate to 0.1 gram) and bought heavy rollers then drilled the centres out until i got about the right weight, then weighed them and ordered the correct weight., i could have still used the ones i drilled as they worked ok.

Accurate scales eh? didnt know yu were a dealer!

I fitted the 5.5g rollers, I got malossi ones in the end, wernt very expensive. it goes much better now, i now understand what you guys mean by constant revs through the power band! it goes off the speedo much earlier in the rev range now and sounds much happier with its revs, if that makes any sense!

Will i need to alter the weights when i fit the primary gear up kit?
i'm still waiting to hear back from scooter attack as to which stage 6 gear up kit is the correct one for my scoot, its only been a month since i emailed them, have sent a reminder at the end of last week....

well, i rode it to work today and it feels like a different scooter! have to use a bit more throttle now, which isnt a problem and it doesnt stink of fuel anymore, strange. goes much better now!

make your clutch bite better so initial pull off its smoother and better, powerband then also there shouldnt be a lag before powerband kicks in. Its not compulsoray to fit them but i think bike with instant power, which dont lagg are so much nicer to ride ;)
