People dont sell paint on here lmao, but if you take a trip to a good halfords store they do loads of spray paint huge choice of colours.
but the thing is, my scooter is painted cosmic blue and there are some very big deep scratches on it so need to get the same color blue to match it
just looked on there and have e-mailed a company that says they can mix it by the scooter paint code so looks promising also has anyone pained there scooter using aerosal paint and laquar if so how does it look as I am thinking of doing that rather than buying compressor spray gun etc
If you get aerosols from paint suppliers such as the trade use, they have mega nozzles compared to the stuff you buy in car accerrory shops...alot wider fan and much better delivery. As long as the prep is done right and the weathers dry without any moisture in the atmosphere then you'll get a good finish. If its damp, it'll bloom (cloudy finish to colour or laquer) Overall finish is down to the person applying the paint...just a matter of practice
thanks for the advice mate, what primer does everyone use is there a specific one or can you use any as I have fond one on ebay thats not too expensive what you think ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hycote-PLASTI...s=65:15|66:2|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
I've used the very same primer in small areas. Its OK but wont stop the paint from cracking or flaking off with time. If you go that route, you're better off with plasticize in the colour to help it flex on plastic panels (a bit like it does on car bumpers). Ant decent paint shop/supplier should be able to sort you out BTW. if you're painting onto bare metal too, you'll need some etching primer. Its about £10 a tin for aerosols
Right I have decided to do a propper paint job with a spray gun, I have bought a air compressor with spray gun etc and will be getting my paint soon, just want to know where I start, I know I have to sand panels down, prepare panels for paint, spray primer, spray color, spray with lacquer but I do'nt really know how many coats of each I should do etc please can someone help. Also what would be the best primer to use if I am haveing dark blue as my color should I use grey or black ?
Halfords or leekes usually do a wide range of colours.. If not see if they can mix up the colour you want
thanks for your help, just one more question before I start on it what do you think the best color primer is to use if I am useing candy blue paint ? i am thinking or using a grey primer because I do'nt want the blue to be really bright what you think ?
