ey, I can get both of those cylinder kits for approximately the same price, was searching for information on the net about the HEBO Manston Revolution, nut didn't find any. Which cylinder will give me the best performance?, Whihc one is more reliable?, what are the differences between those two cylinders. I know the Manston revolution has a modular head made of copper, and the MHR doesn't, does it make any difference?. So I need some one to help me solve this. My setup: MHR crankshaft MHR replica exhaust Malossi TC unit 24mm BGM carb Downdraf manifold and an open BGm airfilter in an airbox Thanks in advance!
Dude that setup is all over the shop really. For starters you have some high end parts but you're running a MHR Replica pipe, which is more akin to a sports pipe, in fact i think i'm right by saying that the Laser X pro out performed it :wtf: The carb is overkill really, a 21mm carb would be ideal aa you'll end up rinsing fuel. The hebo is a single ring piston so you'll get less reliability than a MHR rep, and it's not ideal for daily riding so get a rep if you'll regularly use the bike. But with either one you'll have massive gains by fitting a better pipe such as a yasuni c16 as they rev higher, exploiting the cylinder's full potential
well, for the simple fact he means the mhr not the mhr rep we can all ignor the last post LOL. pipe is pritty shit tbh. theres plenty info on the german sites about bnoth kits and dyno graphs with diff pipes... otherwise terro might shed some light. 24 isnt overkill its called GOOD FUN
Hope so anyway, sorry all this mhr replica stuff has excited me since i just found out i'll be able to get all my parts for christmas Okay for a race setup yeah 24mm carb is ideal, but the pipe ain't so my post wasn't totally useless really LOL
It depends on what MHR really... The standard MHR is nothing compared to a revolution. As for reliability they are as reliable as each over and it's all up to how they are built and treated. Remembering they are both single ringed so aren't really to be used for long trips. Old Hebo's did sometimes have slightly shitter build quality than Malossi but the revolution is a damn fine piece of kit. As for the setup... An MHR rep is NOWHERE near the power range of either kit. It's a pile of wank. You want something like a Yasuni C21 to match up nicely. A 24 carb is pretty good but you could also run a 28 if you wanted a bit more crazyness.
This is a photo of my exhaust: not too sure what it is, got it off second hand, for really cheap: http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 063gy5.jpg I think it's a replica, but still hope it's a real MHR!. I thought about getting this at first: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... _8_131_729 but then I saw the hebo Manston revolution kit for piaggiom which also goes for minerelli horizontal according to the site: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... s_id=10226 The hebo manston cylinder that's made especially for minerelli engine is no longer sold: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... _8_131_729 Also there is really expensive revolution replica, is it worth anything?: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... _8_131_729 Also I was thinking about an MHR Team kit, how is it comparing to the those 3 kits above?, and comparing to a regular MHR?, is it worth the extra - money?, friends told me that in MHR team cylinder, you pay mostly for the name. As for every day use: I'll be doing something like 8 km a day, 3 to school(I'm a senior), then 1 to work, and then 4 back to home, not that much at all. I was thinking about getting an Athena racing kit(excellent 1 ting everyday kit) with 21 carb, but I can get a full race setup for like 140 euros more, so why not?!.
yes mate, pipe is mhr rep unfortunately, no good on a high end kit tbh. and piaggio kits won't fit minarelli mhr team really is the daddy, similar performance to polinis very own evoloution kits.
Basiclly, what I'm looking for is the best cylinder I can get of scooter center for 320 euros not including shipping at max.
I thought i'd reply in this topic as it makes more sense. What crank is it that you have? You stated MHR but all they make is the Malossi, MHR Team and MHR Team big bore cranks. If you have the normal Malossi crank with a gold conrod it may not be the best idea to run a high end setup. They aren't really designed to be used at the sort of RPM high end kits produce. You will also need good quality main bearings. You will also need a new exhaust as that's a rep.
This is the crank: http://img148.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 074kw1.jpg Says MHR on it, and has two holes on top of the connecting rod. This is the ped, in his glory days: http://img169.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sr70rwx0.jpg http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/566503/ http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/566507/ http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/566498/ Sorry for the poor quility of the photos.
Yep it is. Still not sure why some have MHR on the conrod. It's like the 125 malossi cranks. They are Malossi cranks and are advertised as them and even malossi don't tend to call them MHR cranks yet they have MHR on the conrod.
Does that mean I shouldn't run an MHR kit?. Which cylinder should I get then? something of the Mid-race range?
Ok, got a regular MHR bore + BGM 21 mm carb. Going to run: Malossi crank MHR cylinder TC unit Stock air filter 21 BGM Pro delorto carb MHR replica exhaust My 17.5 mm Delorto PHVA carb is set perfectly, had no problems with it whatsoever, can It take the jets and the needle out of it and install them on the new 21 mm carb, so I don't have to do all the setting - up process all over again?. EDIT: The new carb is PHBG
Seriously though mate the MHR rep pipe is shit, more of a low revving sports pipe and would seriously hinder your bikes performance, a Laser x pro is better than that and that'll restrict the Rep cylinder, let alone the full blown MHR. Ohh and your carb will need resetting anyway so use all the 21mm parts.
No, no, I already have a 17.5 PHVA carb fitted to an MHR bore perfectly, I won't to use it's jets on the new 21 mm PHBG carb, will it work?, I mean will the carb work currectly?, or do I need to set it up all over again anyways?. This is my pipe: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... _8_131_720 Now how that's worse then a Laser X-Pro, doesn;t make much sense.
