Was running well with a Leo vince tt, 17.5mm dellorto carb,5.5g rollers and a polini evo belt - jet 62 My rather optimistic speedo was indicating 65 and then a loud hum and it cut out. Managed to get it started off electric but kick seemed useless and cuts out constantly. Could I have fucked the piston and barrel?
easily could have lol take off the barrel firstly and have a look its the best way to know what youre dealing with... any of the pipes on the carb ect loose? elec start can easily turn a small heat sieze into a dead barrel..not advised. was it easy to kick over?
Don't see how this has killed your zip :/ I ran same setup for a year. Pull the bore off and check it all out.
Will it be obvious what the problem is once the barrel is off? Also what is the easiest way to get to the barrel, from beneath the bike if raised up?
Just unbolt the engine. zips are fucking vile to pull heads off in the bike. you'll see scored in the piston or bore if there's any damage.
Something else, found a tool in a bag labeled 'zip' is like a tree shape, is this a variator locking tool. If so how do you use them?
It can be done by just taking the exhaust/ pannels off but it's very hard and you'll end up smashing it up like me haha. It's not a very hard/long job to drop the engines.
Oh and by the way I am contemplating a 70barrel will this setup be reliable with a 70 quid kit attached ?
The clips that hold the variator?... hmmm... that does not sound good... If not in place the variator will not open correctly... Wouldnt recommend you driving without them on.
Can't drive anyway as I live on jersey and all parts have to come by post and takes a while Do you think the variator clips could be the issue ?
are they like little triangle bits ? if so pull your variator apart they clip onto the back plate of the variator and I wouldn't ever buy a cheap 70's.
