whats this for on carb

    hi im trying to get a suzuki ay50 katana going.it has a good spark at plug so im thinking fuel problem.i have the carb off to clean and im just wanting to check what the brass looking thing on the top is for that i disconected a wire from and do i need to take it off to clean [i hope you know what i mean from pic]

    does coolant system flow through carb.

    probs a heating element to prevent freezing

    i unscrewed it and it just seems to be a bolt with white sticky stuff at the bottom.is that what its meant to look like?

    dont know of this white sticky substance your having issues with but pretty sure it isnt meant to be there unless its a bit of grease or something .
