What is the attraction in riding around with your front wheel in the air and your arse hanging off the back of the seat?

It may be a good way to save front tyre wear, but it will damage other parts of your bike, destroying it if you fall off! Which will damage you as well.

Two blokes recently passed me on a dual carriageway, on big bikes doing wheelies between the traffic at about 70-80 MPH. Silly, just silly.

its a thing to put a smile on peoples faces.

i dont wheelie because im shit scared but my mate does. he even wheelies past police at ace cafe.

he can seem to wheelie anything but he did have a massive crash on a dual carriageway at around 60 when he popped a wheelie.

got away with it lightly though.

i just ride my bike and thats it :w00t: no wheelies so im boring

It's like asking a 17-18 yr old driving his corsa /nova/pug

WHY do you have lexus lights, big exhaust, neons etc

and WHY do you wheelspin it everywhere and have the music loud?

they probably think it feels good.

ive seen ml50's on a dna befor now.. i thought they only came in certian sizes but have seen them about in some funny sizes.. might not be the exact profile for your bike but lower is always better

The atraction of wheelies for me stems from my trials riding, in trials you have to be able to accurately lift the front wheel to a speific height to get up rock steps and things like that, initially i started off just trying to lift my front wheel and place it, after a while, i soon fount the balance point (at the cost of ?38.00 for a new rear mudguard unit) and decided it would be good to practice getting to and holding the bike at that balance point to improve my bike control.

after getting on the road with my derbi 50 at 16, i soon decided to try to wheelie again (at the cost of 2 rear light lenses and an indicator :emb: ) but i was determined to carry on, after getting my sym jet 50, i found that scooter wheelies are quite easy compared to low powered bikes and directed my attentions to the jet, then the runner 125, then the area 51 and now my sr125, its become a hobby really, if i'm bored i go ut, do a few whelies and just generally mess about on my scooter.

all in all i don't know what the attraction to wheelies is but its damn good fun!

i suppose it shows bike control in a way.

    Off topic i know but...

I've seen ML50's fitted on runners before. I've done some research and found that ML50's are available with the following correct Gilera wheel profiles:

    Runner SP125

    Front: 120/70 -12

    Rear: 130/60 -13

    Runner FX125 ( Pre '99 )

    Front: 120/70 -12

    Rear: 130/70 -12

    Runner FX125 ( '00 Onwards )

    Front: 120/70 -12

    Rear: 130/60 -13
