Aprilia: mx 125 Aprilia: rs 125 Yamaha: DT 125 lemme hear your opinions on these 3 bikes please.. as i want to pick 1 of these 3 but cant decide! cheers ben.
2003 DT 125 is nuts, i have rode one and its got some power behind it. they are all round general great fun.
DT 125, slightly down on power from the RS but youv'e got yamaha's track proven reliability behind you
oh yeah, its still 30ish bhp derestricted. plenty for a 125 and its a damn site cheaper and easier to maintain
dont even bother buying a dt if you havent got a secure place to keep it in the nights I know 3 people who have had them robbed, one bought his brand new, anoter had a locked garage, in the morning the garage door was BENT in half! some people go to extreme lengths to get their dirty fucking hands on these creatures.. I know 2 boys with Rs125's on the other hand and they havent had 1 probllem with theft.... yet!
back wheel locks up back end comes round to the front goes sliding down road and cops are in stitches lol imagine the burns from fallin at 120 would just gring bone away lol
erm, dt built on bit of a shoe string when you compare it to the mx, and the mx is a good 7bhp up on it. also the new dt's are four strokes, which are a good 15+ bhp down on the mx/rs. i'd go for an mx125 over an rs too tbh. wheely easy and bit less common. and pull away quicker. rotax lumps not as wank as everyone seems to believe. yes the starters go (not a prob on mx) and should have a top end at 10k miles. but its hardly a major hassle for a ton out of a 125 tbh.
RS125 mate all the way this lad who has 1 round my end comes out with us and his does 120 mph lmao its been fully race tuned, its quick as fuck!! they arent the most reliable bike ever but the speed makes up for that. when you 17 to get a 125 ?
thats odd, a standard one does 120 too. the speed dosent make up for pushing it 5 miles home then forking out £250 for a top-end kit and 4 hours labour to fit the bloody thing when the PV cable snaps and the valve drops in or the ring decides it can't take the hardship anymore and tries to escape through the exhaust port. if youv'e got a fair wad of cash then the RS is an awesome bike.
120 standard :wtf: really?? thats fast for a 125 there must be a 125 which is nearly as quick as a 125 but not an RS and not have to put up with it breaking down every five minutes.
if you wanna be really adventerous, get a mito 125 and drop a RD 350 lump in it, thats a bike with attitude.
thats becasue for what they are, they are awesome, how many people can honesly say they've overtaken rsvs, r6s, r1s, ducatis etc... on an 18 yearold 350 2 smoke with bad suspension through the twisties on the isle of man mountain section of the TT
