Just been told that the aftermarket cranks are perfectly fine they fit the old and new style casings So i shouldn't have any issues with a 55mm crank? Is this true?
I had a series 2 small drum that started with that if i remember rightly I don't know how they number them or anything though a pic would be best. There is 3 types of cases used on a typhoon an aftermarket crank (or 55mm with casework) will fit the newer 2 no problem but the older ones have smaller crank webs I think and definitely won't fit
if im right there is : non rolling nut small drum (oldest there?) non rolling nut big drum which has the lugs for disc cov. rolling nut big drum? correct me if im wrong
Thats right but long ago there was also originally a small drum non rolling nut engine that had a different crank which is not replaceable that they stopped making when they made the gilly runner (most likely why they didnt bother making upgraded cranks) or something like that. If i renember right you can fix them with some sort of machining or something? There's probably only a very slim chance of getting one of those these days anyway.
